Intro: (G) (Gmaj7) (C) (Am) (D) (G)

(G) City girls just (Gmaj7) seem to find out (C) early (C/B)
(Am) How to open doors with just a (D) smile (D/C) (D/B) (D/A)
A (G) rich old man
And (Gmaj7) she won't have to (C) worry (C/B)
She'll (Am) dress up all in (C) lace and go in (G) style

Late at night a (Gmaj7) big old house gets (C) lonely (C/B)
I guess (Am) ev'ry form of refuge has its (D) price (D/B) (D/A)
And it (G) breaks her heart to (Gmaj7) think her love is (C) only (C/B)
Given (Am) to a man with (C) hands as cold as (G) ice

So she tells him she must (Gmaj7) go out for the (C) evening (C/B)
To (Am) comfort an old friend who's feelin' (D) down (D/C) (D/B) (D/A)
But he (G) knows where she's (Gmaj7) goin' as she's (C) leavin' (C/B)
She is (Am) headed for the (D) cheatin' side of (G) town

You can't hide (C/G) your lyin' (G) eyes (G/F#)
And your (Em) smile (Bm) is a thin dis(Am)guise (D)
I thought by (G) now (Dm) you'd real(C)ize (A)
There (Am) ain't no way to (D) hide your lyin (G) eyes

(G) (Gmaj7) (C) (Am) (D) (G)

On the (G) other side of (Gmaj7) town a boy is (C) waiting (C/B)
With (Am) fiery eyes and dreams no one could (D) steal (D/C) (D/B) (D/A)
She (G) drives on through the (Gmaj7) night anticip(C)ating (C/B)
'Cause he (Am) makes her feel the (C) way she used to (G) feel

She (G) rushes to his (Gmaj7) arms,
They fall to(C)gether (C/B)
She (Am) whispers that it's only for a(D)while (D/C) (D/B) (D/A)
She (G) swears that soon she'll be (Gmaj7) comin' back for(C)ever (C/B)
She (Am) pulls away and (C) leaves him with a (G) smile

You can't hide (C/G) your lyin' (G) eyes (G/F#)
And your (Em) smile (Bm) is a thin dis(Am)guise (D)
I thought by (G) now (Dm) you'd real(C)ize (A)
There (Am) ain't no way to (CD) hide your lyin (G) eyes

(G) (Gmaj7) (C) (Am) (D) (G)

(G) She gets up and (Gmaj7) pours herself a (C) strong one (C/B)
And (Am) stares out at the stars up in the (D) sky (D/C) (D/B) (D/A)
An(G)other night, it's (Gmaj7) gonna be a (C) long one (C/B)
She (Am) draws the shade and (C) hangs her head to (G) cry

She (G) wonders how it (Gmaj7) ever got this (C) crazy (C/B)
She (Am) thinks about a boy she knew in (D) school (D/C) (D/B) (D/A)
Did (G) she get tired or (Gmaj7) did she just get (C) lazy? (C/B)
She's (Am) so far gone she (C) feels just like a (G) fool

(G) My, oh my, you (Gmaj7) sure know how to arr(C)ange things (C/B)
You (Am) set it up so well, so carefull(D)y (D/C) (D/B) (D/A)
Ain't it (G) funny how your (Gmaj7) new life didn't (C) change things (C/B)
You're (Am) still the same old (C) girl you used to (G) be

You can't hide (C/G) your lyin' (G) eyes (G/F#)
And your (Em) smile (Bm) is a thin dis(Am)guise (D)
I thought by (G) now (Dm) you'd real(C)ize (A)
There (Am) ain't no way to (D) hide your lyin (G) eyes
There (Am) ain't no way to (D) hide your lyin (G) eyes
(Am) Honey you can't (D) hide your lyin (G) eyes

(G) (Gmaj7) (C) (Am) (D) (G)

At the end of each section of the verses, such as
"She'll (Am) dress up all in lace (D) and go in style (G)",
the chords (Am) and (G) are correct, but the (D) should be a (C).
So the progression is as follows,
"She'll (Am) dress up all in lace (C) and go in style (G)".
And that is correct for the ends of the sections in the verses,
also at the end of the chorus.

The chorus is partially correct. In the first line it should be
"You can't (G) hide (C/G) your lyin' (G) eyes (C/G) (G)".
The second line is correct. In the third line there should
not be a (Dm). And in the last line the (D) should be a (C).
Then it will be correct.
-cphogan88 | 1/21/2006
In the second lines of the sections in the verses there should
not be any extra chords, only (Am) and (D).
